Goldendoodles

Here are Farmstead 51:

  • We only breed F1 (Golden Retriever x Poodle) and F1B (F1 Goldendoodle x Poodle) as we know that these are the most consistent generations of the breed. All puppies in a litter will be genetically identical so we can tell families, with certainty, the traits of each puppy.

  • We only breed Standard and Royal sized Goldendoodles.  Our Standards weigh between 50-70 pounds as adults and our Royals weigh between 70-90 pounds adults.

  • Colors will vary from litter to litter based on the genetics of the parents involved. We always encourage families to select a puppy based on temperament not color but if color is important for your family, we can help you determine what parent pairings would yield your desired result.

  • Goldendoodles need engagement and exercise on a daily basis.  We expect our puppies to be members of your family, as ours are, and to live in the house with you, go on trips with you, go to soccer games and birthday parties, just as your other family members do.

  • Goldendoodles need daily grooming as puppies and weekly grooming as adults.  The curlier the coat, the more grooming is needed.  We encourage families to learn how to groom as it's a great bonding experience but professional grooming is necessary with either the F1 or F1B generation.

  • All dogs shed or lose their coat in some form. F1 Goldendoodles will shed some but nothing like a Golden Retriever. F1B Goldendoodles shed very very little but need more routine and professional grooming as a result. Rule of thumb: More curl=more grooming, less shedding=more grooming.
